Pete Davidson called Kanye West a “gay Nazi” during The Roast of Kevin Hart on Netflix on May 10

TMZ obtained video showing Ye was in the audience with wife Bianca Censori when the joke landed

Kanye appeared stone-faced during Davidson’s dig but later clapped for Teyana Taylor and smiled when Dwayne Johnson took the stage

The joke referenced their 2022 feud over Kim Kardashian and Ye’s widely condemned antisemitic comments

West published a public apology in the Wall Street Journal earlier this year, denying he is a Nazi or antisemite

Pete Davidson did not come to The Roast of Kevin Hart to play it safe — and Kanye West had a front-row seat for all of it.

The Netflix special, filmed May 10 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles as part of Netflix Is a Joke Fest and hosted by Shane Gillis, was exactly the kind of no-limits night the format promises. Davidson, 32, was among the comedians who took the stage, and when he did, he went straight for a familiar target. While roasting fellow comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, the SNL alum pivoted hard.

“Tony, nothing you say tonight will hurt my feelings,” Davidson said. “I was in a beef with Kanye, so I’ve taken shots from better gay Nazis.”

The line got huge laughs — including, reportedly, from Hinchcliffe himself. What nobody in that room may have realized in the moment: Ye was watching from the audience, seated alongside his wife Bianca Censori.

Stone-Faced but Present

Video obtained by TMZ shows Kanye from behind as Davidson delivered the joke. His reaction? Essentially nothing. No visible flinch, no laughter, no visible anger. Just Ye, sitting there, absorbing it.

He wasn’t completely unmoved all night, though. When Teyana Taylor — who famously starred in Ye’s iconic “Fade” video back in 2016 and has since become a Golden Globe-winning actress — surprised the crowd with a set, Kanye clapped for her. Taylor had said in a January interview with Vanity Fair that she wouldn’t be cutting Ye out of her life over his controversies, so the warmth there tracks. And when Dwayne Johnson stepped up to introduce Kevin Hart, Ye even cracked a smile.

The stone face was reserved specifically for Pete.

The History Behind the Punchline

For anyone who needs a refresher: Davidson and Ye’s feud ignited in late 2021 when Pete began dating Kim Kardashian. The nine-month relationship — which lasted until August 2022 — sent Kanye into a very public spiral. He went after Davidson relentlessly on social media, dubbed him “Skete,” and even appeared as an animated figure burying Davidson alive in the music video for “Eazy,” his 2022 collaboration with The Game — in which a claymation Davidson was kidnapped and buried. It was a lot.

Davidson’s “gay Nazi” line was also a direct callback to Ye’s spiral of antisemitic statements in 2022 and beyond, including a song called “Cousins” — later pulled from streaming — and a string of public comments that drew widespread condemnation. The fallout from those comments cost Ye major business partnerships and dominated headlines for months.

Hinchcliffe didn’t let Davidson off easy either. During his own set, the Kill Tony host landed his own Ye-adjacent shot at Davidson’s expense: “The closest Pete has come to greatness is when his d*** rubbed up against Kanye’s old c**,” Hinchcliffe said, as Davidson could be seen nodding along from his seat.

Ye’s Public Apology and What Came Before It

Davidson’s joke landed in the context of a much bigger, messier story. Earlier this year, Kanye published a full-page open letter in the Wall Street Journal, offering what amounted to his most direct public reckoning yet with his behavior.

“One of the difficult aspects of having bipolar type-1 are the disconnected moments — many of which I still cannot recall — that led to poor judgment and reckless behavior that oftentimes feels like an out-of-body experience,” he wrote. “I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change. It does not excuse what I did though. I am not a Nazi or an antisemite. I love Jewish people.”

West said he had experienced a four-month manic episode that included “psychotic, paranoid and impulsive behavior” and that it “ruined” his life. He credited Bianca Censori — the same woman sitting beside him at the Hart roast — as the reason he finally sought help. “When you go into a manic episode, you are ill at that point,” he wrote. “When you are not in an episode, you are completely ‘normal.’ And that’s when the wreckage from the illness hits the hardest.”

The roast itself was a massive night beyond just the Ye subplot. Katt Williams showed up for a surprise appearance, squashed his long-running beef with Hart, and — because he’s Katt Williams — couldn’t resist slipping in some Diddy jokes while he was at it. The Greatest Roast of All Time: Kevin Hart is now streaming on Netflix, joining The Roast of Tom Brady in the platform’s growing library of celebrity roast specials.

As for Kanye? He hasn’t publicly acknowledged the roast, Davidson’s joke, or any of it. Whether that changes — well, anyone who followed the “Skete” era knows better than to assume the silence will last forever.

Pete Davidson called Kanye West a “gay Nazi” during Netflix’s The Roast of Kevin Hart on Sunday night

The joke revived Davidson’s infamous feud with West, who relentlessly mocked him during his relationship with Kim Kardashian in 2022

Davidson also made a brutal joke referencing the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk

Tom Brady crashed the roast for surprise revenge after Hart hosted his own Netflix roast last year

The special is now streaming on Netflix, filmed at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles

Pete Davidson showed up to roast Kevin Hart on Sunday night and walked away having torched pretty much everyone else in the room too — including Kanye West, a man who wasn’t even there.

Netflix’s The Roast of Kevin Hart, filmed at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, was everything you’d expect from a celebrity roast: relentless height jokes, a few genuinely shocking moments, and one comedian who clearly came to play. Davidson, 32, was that comedian. While taking aim at fellow roaster Tony Hinchcliffe — the Kill Tony host who made headlines last fall for cracking offensive jokes about Puerto Rico at a Donald Trump rally — Davidson delivered what became the night’s most talked-about line.

“Tony, nothing you say tonight will hurt my feelings,” Davidson said. “I was in a beef with Kanye, so I’ve taken shots from better gay Nazis.”

The crowd’s reaction was exactly what you’d expect. Davidson leaned into it.

“Oh, you don’t know me?”

He wasn’t done with Hinchcliffe either. “Tony is here looking like both a child molester and the doll they give the child to show where he touched them,” Davidson said, before adding, “Tony reminds me of Charlie Kirk, in that he’s definitely been on camera letting a guy unload in his throat.” Then, almost gleefully: “Kill Tony. Please, someone f**king kill Tony.”

The Kanye Line That Stopped the Room

The Kanye West reference hit differently. Davidson and West’s feud is well-documented — during Davidson’s nine-month relationship with Kim Kardashian, which ran from November 2021 to August 2022, West made the comedian a recurring target on social media, mockingly calling him “Skete” and posting music videos depicting violence against him. A source close to Davidson told Page Six at the time that the former SNL star was “ignoring all of the Kanye hate out of respect for Kim.”

The “gay Nazi” dig lands in a very specific context. West, 48, spent years making antisemitic statements that got him dropped from major brand partnerships including Adidas, Balenciaga and Gap. Then in 2025, he publicly proclaimed his love for Adolf Hitler, called himself a Nazi, and promoted swastika merchandise on his Yeezy website. Earlier this year, he took out a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal to apologize, writing that he is “not a Nazi or an antisemite” and attributing his behavior to a four-month manic episode tied to his bipolar disorder. “I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change,” West wrote. “It does not excuse what I did though.”

West has not publicly responded to being name-dropped at the roast.

Davidson wasn’t the only one who brought up West during the night. Hinchcliffe had already taken his own shot before Davidson even hit the stage: “The closest Pete has come to greatness is when his d*** rubbed up against Kanye’s old c**,” Hinchcliffe said — and Davidson, watching from his seat, was seen nodding his head.

Hart Gets What’s Coming to Him

Of course, the whole night was technically about Kevin Hart, and the roasters made sure he felt it. Lizzo delivered one of the evening’s sharpest lines: “Kevin and I are both mocked for our size, and we share that pain. But I can lose weight — you can’t get taller!” Dwayne Johnson went for a different kind of humor: “I love you, yes, I do. Just to prove it, just last week, I got a Kevin Hart tattoo on my cock. Yeah, life-size too.”

Katt Williams went somewhere darker. “Just because Kevin went to Diddy parties does not mean he did something wrong,” Williams said. “The fact that he gets all quiet when you bring it up — that means he did something wrong.”

But the biggest surprise of the night was Tom Brady, who Hart had roasted on Netflix just last year. Brady crashed the stage clearly relishing every second of his revenge tour.

“Have you even left the Forum, or have you just been here screaming into that mic the last two years waiting for daddy to come home?” Brady said. “Well, unlike your real dad, I actually showed up.”

Brady also gifted Hart a newborn-sized jersey of Knicks star Jalen Brunson — arriving just hours after the Knicks finished sweeping Hart’s beloved Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA playoffs. And he didn’t let Hart’s well-known Vegas cheating scandal slide either, joking about his “affairs in Las Vegas” before shrugging it off: “I think I broke another rule. Fuck it. I talked about it.”

The Kirk joke Davidson made will likely generate the most conversation in the days ahead. Kirk, the conservative commentator and Turning Point USA founder, was fatally shot in September 2025 while speaking at Utah Valley University. He was 31. Joking about a real person’s assassination — even in a roast context — is the kind of thing that tends to follow a comedian around, and Davidson had to know that when he said it.

Then again, this is Pete Davidson. Knowing exactly how far is too far — and going there anyway — has always kind of been the whole thing.

The Roast of Kevin Hart is streaming now on Netflix.

Amber Rose says she hyped Kanye West up and encouraged Hennessy shots before his infamous 2009 VMAs stage crash

“It’s partially my fault,” Rose admitted on the Ball in the Family podcast with Lonzo and LiAngelo Ball

She was blindsided when West actually ran on stage, saying “I was not expecting that”

Rose also revealed Taylor Swift later sent her son — a self-described Swiftie — merch and concert tickets

West interrupted Swift’s Best Female Video speech to declare Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” the greatest video of all time

Amber Rose is finally coming clean about the night that changed pop culture forever. Sixteen years after Kanye West stormed the stage at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards to snatch the mic from a 19-year-old Taylor Swift, his ex-girlfriend is admitting she played a role in setting the whole chaotic chain of events in motion — with a bottle of Hennessy and a whole lot of ego-stroking.

“It’s partially my fault,” Rose, 42, told Lonzo and LiAngelo Ball on Tuesday’s episode of the Ball in the Family podcast. It’s the first time she says she’s ever spoken publicly about the incident.

Rose, who dated West from 2008 to 2010, recalled the moments before they left for the awards show with vivid detail. “We get in the car, we about to go to the VMAs, and I’m like, ‘Babe, you got that bottle of Hennessy upstairs, like you a superstar, you need to get the Henny, we need to be on the red carpet taking shots of Henny,'” she said. “You the biggest thing in the whole world. I’m hyping him up.”

West, now 48, apparently didn’t need much convincing. He grabbed the bottle, agreed with every word, and the two took swigs all the way through the red carpet and into the venue. Rose says that’s just who she was as a girlfriend — someone who made her partner feel ten feet tall. She just didn’t account for what that particular partner might do with all that energy.

“It kind of backfired because all of a sudden I’m just sitting there and then he’s on stage,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Oh s–t. I was not expecting that.'”

What Happened on That Stage

The moment itself needs little introduction. As Swift accepted the award for Best Female Video — beating out Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” — West appeared beside her out of nowhere, took the microphone, and delivered what became one of the most quoted lines in awards show history: “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you. I’mma let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!” He handed the mic back and walked off. Swift stood there, stunned. Reports at the time said she was in tears backstage, though she held it together and performed later that same night.

Rose doesn’t fully regret what happened — she just wishes it had gone differently. “That’s naturally Kanye’s personality,” she said. “Do I agree with how he did it? No. But was he right? Yes. That’s how I feel.”

The Feud That Followed — and What Rose Says Now

That one drunken stage crash lit a fuse that burned for years. West and Swift’s back-and-forth became one of the defining celebrity feuds of the 2010s. In 2016, West rapped on “Famous” that he “made that b—h famous” — a line he claimed Swift had approved beforehand. Swift called it “misogynistic” and took a pointed swipe at him during her Grammy acceptance speech. Then his then-wife Kim Kardashian released footage of a phone call between West and Swift that she said proved Swift had signed off on the lyric. Swift fired back eight years later with the 2024 diss track “thanK you aIMee,” aimed squarely at Kardashian, in which she sings about a “bronze, spray-tanned” enemy whose downfall she’d watched with satisfaction.

And through all of it, Rose had never said a word publicly about her role in the night it all began. Until now.

What makes her podcast appearance even more surprising is what she revealed about her relationship with Swift since then. Rose told the Ball brothers that she has actually spoken with Swift after the incident, and there’s no bad blood between them. More than that — when Swift found out that Rose’s son is a massive Swiftie, she sent him merch and concert tickets.

“We were just young and f—ing winging it,” Rose said, summing up the chaos of that night with the kind of clarity only hindsight can give you.

West, for his part, has continued to be a headline unto himself — his antisemitic social media posts in 2022 cost him major partnerships, and he initially blamed Hennessy consumption for his messaging before later insisting in a 2025 post that his words were not the ramblings of a drunkard. The same bottle of Hennessy, it turns out, has a long history in the Kanye West story.

Rose, meanwhile, has carved out a very different kind of public identity since her days on West’s arm. She spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2024 and campaigned for Donald Trump, a move that drew its own share of controversy. But on Tuesday, she wasn’t talking politics. She was talking about a night in 2009 when she told a man he was the biggest thing in the world — and he believed her a little too completely.

“I was not expecting that,” she said again. Sixteen years later, neither was anyone else.
