Nicole Richie brought her best plus-one to Hollywood on Monday night. The House of Harlow founder stepped out with her 18-year-old daughter Kate Madden for the world premiere of her new film Stop! That! Train! at the Harmony Gold Theater in Los Angeles — and the two were practically impossible to tell apart.

It’s been more than two years since the pair last graced a red carpet together. Their previous outing was the April 2024 premiere of Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, where they were joined by Nicole’s husband Joel Madden and the couple’s 16-year-old son Sparrow. This time, it was just the girls — and they showed up.

If you’re still getting used to “Kate Madden,” you’re not alone — but apparently the name has been in play for a long time. Kate was born Harlow Kate, and Nicole confirmed to PEOPLE in January that “she goes by her middle name,” adding, “she has her whole life.” Fans first noticed the shift when Nicole tagged her daughter’s Instagram @katemaddennn in an 18th birthday post.

Joel Madden, the Good Charlotte frontman and Kate’s dad, got a little more specific on Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast back in March. “She’s been going by her middle name since she was in like, first grade,” he said. “She chose it. She went to school, one day she came home — or we went to the open house night or whatever — and the teacher’s like, ‘Kate’s doing great. She’s so nice.'”

She stepped out at Coachella with friends last month, too, suggesting she’s very much stepping into her own public moment on her own terms.

What’s the Movie?

Stop! That! Train! is exactly the kind of film you’d expect from a cast that includes RuPaul, Ginger Minj, Jujubee, Symone, Brooke Lynn Hytes, and Marcia Marcia Marcia. The camp comedy follows best friends Tess and DeeDee — train stewardesses who ditch their dreary shifts on the Stank Rail for the glitzy Glamazonian Express — only to find themselves facing a catastrophic “Stormaganza” threatening to crash the high-speed train into Los Angeles. RuPaul plays President Gagwell. Nicole appears in the film as “Workaholic.”

The film was directed by Adam Shankman, who joined Nicole on the red carpet Monday night. It opens in theaters on June 12.

Nicole has been open about how much she loves this stage of parenting. During a 2024 appearance on Today, she said being a mom to teens is her “favorite stage” — that she can still vividly remember being 16 herself. “When my daughter’s telling me drama with her friends, I go, ‘I remember. Laila Heckmath did that to me,'” she laughed. “I remember first and last names. So it’s fun. It’s wild. And just the best.”

Country music’s biggest night is here, and Shania Twain is making absolutely sure you know it. The Canadian icon stepped onto the 2026 ACM Awards red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas wearing a silver strapless gown from Falguni Shane Peacock — beaded palm-tree embroidery across the bodice, a massive sequin panther prowling across the skirt, and dramatic elbow-length leather gloves with grommet details finishing the whole thing off. It was, in a word, a lot. In the best possible way.

Twain, 60, is hosting the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards tonight, Sunday, May 17, taking over from Reba McEntire and making her hosting debut at an event she’s called a genuine bucket-list moment. “This is the biggest gig of my life,” she told Us Weekly ahead of the show. “You can expect a lot of excitement, glamor. We’re going to be very glamorous here in Las Vegas. You can expect that this is the ACMs Vegas style.”

She also teased that the fashion was going to be particularly elevated this year: “There’s going to be a lot of beauty because there’s more women on the nominees list this year. So that always brings up the fashion a little higher sometimes, I think. So you can see a lot of really fabulous, high fashion.”

She wasn’t wrong.

The Red Carpet Looks You Need to See

Twain’s entrance set the tone, but she wasn’t the only one bringing it on the carpet. The performance lineup is stacked. Kacey Musgraves makes her ACM Awards debut tonight, performing from her newly released album Middle of Nowhere — and yes, she and Lambert have officially squashed their long-rumored feud, collaborating on a new duet called “Horses and Divorces.” Also on the stage tonight: Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Thomas Rhett, Little Big Town, The Red Clay Strays, Jordan Davis, Riley Green, Parker McCollum (performing “Killin’ Me” with Lee Ann Womack), and all Album of the Year nominees except Morgan Wallen.

A few awards were handed out before tonight’s main ceremony. Jessie Jo Dillon became the first songwriter to win the ACM Songwriter of the Year award three consecutive times. Stephen Wilson Jr. took home visual media of the year for “Cuckoo.” And Avery Anna and Tucker Wetmore were named new female and new male artist of the year, respectively.

Amal Clooney didn’t just show up to the King’s Trust 50th Anniversary Celebration — she made a full fashion statement, and it was nearly two decades in the making.

The 48-year-old human rights lawyer arrived at Royal Albert Hall in London on Monday alongside husband George Clooney in a breathtaking gold sequined gown from Alexander McQueen’s fall 2007 ready-to-wear collection. The archival piece — which first hit the runway during Paris Fashion Week in March 2007 — featured a V-neckline, cap sleeves, and a sleek column silhouette covered in intricate gold embellishment with an Art Deco-style arrangement of sinuous lines and sharp angles. The hem nearly grazed the carpet, saved only by her coordinating pointed metallic gold pumps. She finished the look with a gold clutch, delicate earrings, and a bracelet, her hair styled in loose side-parted waves.

The McQueen Collection Has a Story of Its Own

Hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla, the King’s Trust 50th Anniversary Celebration was held in partnership with TK Maxx and hosted by British presenting duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. Performances came from Sir Rod Stewart, Jools Holland, and Rita Ora, whose gown swept the red carpet as she posed for photos early in the evening.

The guest list was stacked. The King’s Trust — formerly known as The Prince’s Trust — was founded by Charles in 1976 when he was still the Prince of Wales, created as a lifeline for disadvantaged young people in the UK. Fifty years on, the organization now operates in 25 countries, supports young people between the ages of 11 and 30 with life skills, career training, and entrepreneurship programs, and has helped more than 1.3 million people — contributing at least £11.4 billion to society through its work. It has also recently expanded to the United States, with programs running in New York, Chicago, Orlando, San Jose, and Detroit.

King Charles spoke about the milestone in a video message filmed at Clarence House earlier this year. “When I began what is now The King’s Trust in 1976, I could not possibly have imagined the impact that it would have,” he said. “I am so very pleased and proud that The Trust’s work continues to go from strength to strength, having in that time helped over 1.3 million young people grow their confidence, continue in education, secure sustainable jobs and over 92,000 young people in the UK alone, having been supported to start a business, thus enabling them all to build brighter futures.”

The Clooneys had also attended The King’s Trust 5th Annual Gala in New York City last month, when Charles and Camilla visited the United States. Clearly, this is a cause close to their hearts — and Monday night, Amal made sure the cause got a red carpet moment to match.

London’s Royal Festival Hall was the place to be on Sunday night as the 72nd BAFTA Television Awards brought out some of the biggest names in British and international TV for a night that felt bigger — and more loaded — than usual.

Taskmaster host Greg Davies took the stage as this year’s host, opening the ceremony with a quip that “a quick AI search” revealed that television began when David Attenborough “first hugged a monkey” — a nod to outgoing BAFTA chair Sara Putt’s opening remarks, in which she wished Attenborough a happy 100th birthday (he celebrated on Friday) and declared that “TV isn’t going anywhere” despite the disruption reshaping the industry. Davies also gave a warm welcome to nominees including Colin Firth — mentioning, with characteristic deadpan, how attractive his aunt finds him — and Stephen Graham and the entire Adolescence team.

The ceremony, which aired on BBC One and iPlayer, is BAFTA and the BBC’s first major televised awards show since the controversy at this year’s Film Awards, when Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson involuntarily yelled a racial slur during a live broadcast appearance. BAFTA subsequently apologized “unreservedly” and an independent review found “a number of structural weaknesses in BAFTA’s planning, escalation procedures and crisis coordination arrangements” — including that early warning signs were not escalated and that no clear operational command structure was in place. The BBC has been quietly but carefully prepping for Sunday’s broadcast ever since.

Adolescence Dominates — But Has Company

Netflix’s Adolescence — the Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne-created limited series that became one of the most talked-about shows of the year — arrived at the BAFTAs as the undisputed frontrunner, carrying 11 nominations into the night. That haul includes five acting nods for Graham, Ashley Walters, Owen Cooper, Christine Tremarco and Erin Doherty, as well as a spot in the coveted Limited Drama category. The show had already picked up two prizes at the BAFTA Television Craft Awards two weeks prior, for director and sound.

If Adolescence keeps winning, it could be on track for a record-breaking BAFTA feat by the end of the night.

Hot on its heels is Disney+’s A Thousand Blows with seven nominations, while The Celebrity Traitors — the BBC’s top-rated show of the year — is up for five. In the Limited Drama race, Adolescence faces competition from BBC’s What It Feels Like for a Girl, ITV’s I Fought the Law and Channel 4’s Trespasses.

The Leading Actor category is one of the most stacked in recent memory: Colin Firth (Lockerbie: A Search for Truth), Matt Smith (The Death of Bunny Munro), and Taron Egerton (Smoke) are all in the mix alongside Graham. Leading Actress features Aimee Lou Wood (Film Club), Erin Doherty (A Thousand Blows), Jodie Whittaker (Toxic Town) and Sheridan Smith (I Fought the Law), among others. Both Doherty and Wood are each nominated in two separate categories.

On the international front, the nominees read like a streaming greatest-hits playlist: Severance, The White Lotus, The Bear, The Diplomat and The Studio are all in contention.

The Red Carpet: Who Showed Up and What They Wore

The arrivals outside the Southbank Centre were a full fashion moment. On the international side, Severance stars Adam Scott and Chase Sui Wonders made the trip to London, joined by Seth Rogen and Ike Barinholtz repping The Studio, and Paapa Essiedu and Jessica Gunning also walking the carpet. Matt Smith, nominated for Leading Actor, was there too.

Aimee Lou Wood went full vampire glamour — a buckle-adorned gown, black eyeshadow, and the kind of commitment to a look that makes a red carpet moment. Jodie Whittaker went the opposite direction in a bold red halterneck gown that worked perfectly with her copper bob. Amandaland‘s Lucy Punch brought tangerine energy in a fitted gown with white heels, while Erin Doherty kept it sleek in a black strapless gown with her hair slicked back.

Amanda Holden was pure spectacle in a grey tassel-adorned crop top paired with a mermaid skirt and a train — the kind of look that guarantees a front page. Claudia Winkleman, the woman behind The Celebrity Traitors‘ five nominations, surprised in her usual all-black but swapped the gown for capri pants. Silent Witness star Emilia Fox was elegant in bottle green with gold hardware, and Back to Black‘s Marisa Abela wore an appropriately vampy black Bardot-neck gown with a corseted bodice.

Three baby bumps commanded their own spotlight on the carpet. Vogue Williams, pregnant with her fourth child with husband Spencer Matthews, was radiant in a white lace-adorned gown with a new fringe. Scarlett Moffatt — currently expecting her second — hugged her bump in a chocolate brown dress with a dramatic asymmetrical cape, coordinating her earrings and cuff to match. And presenter Laura Whitmore wore a textured gown with a linen skirt and a pearlescent clutch.

Mary Berry, national treasure, arrived in a soft pink A-line gown and a double string of pearls — because of course she did.

Katie Piper, stunning in a mint green cut-out ruched gown, took a moment on the carpet to speak about confidence and self-image. “Comparison is the fastest way to disconnect with yourself,” she told HELLO!. “I’ve always thought that the ultimate body positivity is actually feeling neutral about your appearance… the neutrality of it doesn’t define you.” She added simply: “I’m not beautiful like her, I’m beautiful like me.”

Among the What It Feels Like for a Girl contingent, Alex Thomas-Smith arrived in a high-neck, glossy PVC black gown with a thigh-high split and gloves, while Adam Ali went bold in a sequinned jacket, wide-collared shirt and flared trousers with platform shoes. Former EastEnders star Shona McGarty brought drama in a strapless black tulle gown covered in sequins — and crucially, with pockets.

Love Island and Strictly alum Tasha Ghouri went for sparkle in a stone-hued maxi with a diamante-detailed tulle skirt, and This Morning‘s Ashley James dazzled in a rhinestone-corseted gown that pooled at her feet. James used her carpet moment to speak out on body image too, telling HELLO!: “I think the advice is to know that you don’t need to shrink yourself. It doesn’t make you more lovable or more confident. Your worth isn’t defined by your body.”

The 2026 BAFTA TV Awards are live now — with Adolescence already the night’s biggest story before a single trophy has been handed out.

Billie Eilish has officially hard-launched her relationship — and she did it in style. The Grammy-winning singer and her boyfriend, actor Nat Wolff, stepped out together on the red carpet Wednesday night at the Los Angeles premiere of her new concert film, Billie Eilish — Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), making it their first official public appearance as a couple.

The two smiled, hugged, side-hugged, front-hugged, and leaned into each other for the cameras at the Fox Westwood Village Theater — the kind of easy, comfortable body language that tells you everything you need to know. At one point, Wolff rested his cheek on top of Eilish’s head while she beamed at the cameras. A second shot showed them embracing and laughing, looking completely at ease.

Who Is Nat Wolff?

If you’re not already familiar with Wolff, here’s the quick version: he’s a 31-year-old Los Angeles-based actor and musician who got his start alongside his younger brother Alex on Nickelodeon’s The Naked Brothers Band, a mockumentary series about their lives as kids in a band. He went on to build a solid film career, landing roles in The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns, Stuck in Love, and Death Note.

He and Alex still make music together as Nat & Alex Wolff. And as of late 2024, that band had a pretty high-profile gig: opening for Billie Eilish on the US leg of her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour.

Alex Wolff, for his part, is probably best known to horror fans for his role in Hereditary. The brothers are a package deal in the best possible way.

How Billie and Nat Actually Got Together

The story of this relationship starts, as many good ones do, with a shared experience that cuts deeper than small talk. Eilish, Nat, and Alex all have Tourette syndrome — and that’s what first bonded them.

Alex met Eilish at an Oscars party in March 2023. “Billie and me and my brother, we all have Tourette’s. And I think we all have bonded over that,” Alex told Variety. “Even when I saw Billie on interviews, I said, ‘Oh, she’s one of us.’ We know all the ways that we try to mute ourselves or try and chill ourselves out or soften ourselves for other people, and how nice it is to not have to do that for certain people.”

Nat met Eilish separately at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, where they also connected over their Tourette’s.
