To emphasise the creative possibilities of the new Samsung Galaxy Note, a campaign entitled 'Who is Notasso?' has been developed. The new Galaxy Note is a pen enabled smartphone which attempts to incorporate both a tablet and a smartphone in one.
Spanish street artist Notasso credits the Galaxy Note as one of the tools he frequently works with. A Facebook application has since been created in which Notasso can produce a personalised work of art based on a person's Facebook photos.
Once permissions have been granted, the application randomly selects a photo from a user's profile pictures and album photos. Notasso uses these pictures to add his own style, giving each person who takes part in the campaign a personalised picture.
As an unknown street artist from Barcelona, Natasso is introduced to the user when they enter the application. His work from the streets of Barcelona is displayed and he demonstrates how he uses his Note. Notasso then takes the user to an exhibition where art is displayed on multiple Galaxy Notes.
Though the campaign is primarily run in The Netherlands, it can be seen by many others, as most of the communication is in English. Samsung hope that the campaign will build on their fanbase, and with a 50% increase of followers on Facebook since the campaign, they are well under way.
Results
Since the campaign launched, more than 68,000 Notasso artworks have been produced, and almost 38,000 Notasso artworks downloaded. Dutch Samsung Mobile have also got 35,000 extra fans on their Facebook page, a 50% increase.
