She was also fined $571, required to complete a DUI class, and ordered to see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month. The original DUI charge was dismissed.

She qualified for the reduced “wet reckless” plea — reckless driving involving alcohol and/or drugs — because she had no prior DUI history, her blood alcohol level was low, and there was no crash or injury involved. The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office noted the resolution is “common, particularly when a defendant demonstrates self-motivation to address underlying issues through rehabilitation or a drug and alcohol treatment program.”

Her attorney, Michael Goldstein, spoke plainly after the hearing. “Through her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct. She has taken significant steps to implement positive change, which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI.
