Jayden Spears Makes Red Carpet Debut at Dior Show

Jayden James Federline is stepping into his own spotlight. Britney Spears’ younger son made a rare — and notably confident — red carpet appearance Wednesday night at the Dior Cruise 2027 fashion show, held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It was his first solo red carpet moment in roughly ten years, and by all accounts, he looked completely at home.

For the occasion, the 19-year-old layered a forest green bomber jacket over a matching plaid button-down and white tee, finishing the look with baggy distressed denim and black boots. It had a laid-back skater energy that somehow felt exactly right for a Dior crowd. He accessorized with sunglasses and arrived alongside his girlfriend, Gabrielle, who’s been by his side for more than two years now. The two were first spotted together in paparazzi photos in early 2024 while both living in Hawaii, and Jayden first appeared on Gabrielle’s Instagram in May of that year. Wednesday night, they both posted about the show — Gabrielle shared a snap of the two of them in the car on the way over, plus clips from inside, while Jayden posted an Instagram Story from the event on his @jjayden_james page.

The Dior Cruise show itself was a full celebrity spectacle — LACMA transformed for the night with Miley Cyrus, Sabrina Carpenter, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jeff Goldblum, and Miles Teller all in attendance. Jayden held his own in that company, quietly carving out his own moment among the fashion crowd.

Back in LA and Chasing His Own Dreams

Jayden’s presence on the LA scene makes sense given his recent move back to the city. His dad Kevin Federline relocated the family — including Jayden’s older brother Sean Preston, 20 — to Hawaii in 2023, but Jayden has since returned to Los Angeles. In his 2025 memoir You Thought You Knew, Kevin wrote that “Jayden has already returned to L.A., chasing his music dreams,” while Sean Preston is “finding his way as an adult.”

The Dior outing also came just days after a Spears family moment Britney wasn’t part of: Jamie and Lynne Spears attended the high school graduation of Jamie Lynn Spears’ eldest daughter Maddie Aldridge over the weekend, with Sean Preston spotted there supporting his cousin. Britney was absent from that gathering as well.

Meanwhile, Britney’s Night Made Headlines for Different Reasons

While Jayden was working the red carpet, his mother was having a much more complicated evening across town. TMZ reported that Britney, 44, was observed “barking” and “raising her voice” during a dinner at Blue Dog Tavern in Sherman Oaks — about a 30-to-45-minute drive from LACMA. Sources described the scene as “chaotic” and “kind of sad,” with some patrons alarmed after allegedly noticing her walking around with a knife.

Britney’s rep pushed back hard, telling Page Six the claims were “completely blown out of proportion.” According to the rep, “Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard. She was simply telling the story about how her dog was barking at the neighbors” — explaining both the noise and the silverware. The rep was equally firm that the “Toxic” singer never “put anyone in danger with a knife” and was simply using it to cut her hamburger.

But a fellow diner told a different story. “The woman sat down and proceeded to make a lot of woofing or barking noises and just throw a lot of outbursts,” restaurant patron Jeff Sneider told Page Six. “It wasn’t really until she took off her sunglasses that we realized, ‘Oh no, this is Britney Spears.’” Sneider also said she “kept standing up and sitting down and moving around the restaurant” and described her as “definitely a nuisance to sit next to at dinner.” Britney was also caught on surveillance footage earlier that evening at a Wines of the World store in the same Sherman Oaks neighborhood.

Where Britney’s at Right Now

It’s been a turbulent stretch for the pop icon. Britney was arrested for DUI on March 4, checked into rehab on April 12, and emerged on April 30 looking relaxed in the passenger seat of a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon. On May 4, she pleaded guilty through her attorney to a reduced “wet reckless” charge — a common resolution for first-time offenders — and was ordered to complete a three-month alcohol education program and a one-year informal probation.

Sources close to the situation said last month that Britney was “doing really well” after completing rehab, calling it “a great opportunity for her to ground herself,” and that she’s “continuing counseling remotely.” Both Jayden and Sean Preston were said to have been instrumental in encouraging their mother to seek treatment in the first place.

In the weeks since, Britney has been focusing on time with her boys. Wednesday night, one of them was at a Dior show, building something of his own — and looking pretty good doing it.
