Ally Lewber Reacts to Ex James Kennedy’s Baby News

Ally Lewber has one thing to say about James Kennedy’s baby news: she’s fine. Really.

The Vanderpump Rules alum and Perfect Match star broke her silence on the Friday, May 15 episode of the Scheananigans With Scheana Shay podcast, reacting to TMZ’s May 7 report that Kennedy is expecting a baby with his new girlfriend — a woman who has largely stayed out of the spotlight despite his reality TV profile. The two have reportedly been together for seven months.

“My first thought was shocked because I didn’t know he, like, had a girlfriend,” Lewber said. “I was like, ‘Whoa.’ I also was shocked that I was like, ‘OK,’ and then didn’t really care.”

That double shock — first at the headlines, then at her own indifference — pretty much sums up where Lewber is right now. She said she and Kennedy have had zero contact since their split, adding with a laugh, “I promise.”

“He Has Always Wanted to Be a Dad”

Lewber wasn’t cold about it, though. She acknowledged that parenthood was always a tension point between them — and that Kennedy, 34, had always been clear about what he wanted.

“He has always wanted to be a dad,” she said. “That was always our thing — he always wanted kids immediately, and I was like, ‘I don’t know what I want.’ He’s always wanted to be a dad, and he has always moved quickly. I wish them the best.”

As for where she stands on kids now? “I don’t think I’ll be ready for kids, like, anytime soon,” Lewber said. “I do think I’ll want them [eventually].” She’s reportedly considering freezing her eggs.

Kennedy has not publicly addressed the pregnancy speculation.

A Relationship She’s Still Processing

Lewber and Kennedy dated from 2022 to 2024 — Kennedy had gotten together with her after calling off his engagement to Rachel “Raquel” Leviss. Their relationship ended in December 2024 after Kennedy was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. He denied the allegations and prosecutors did not file charges.

In her January 2025 Instagram statement, Lewber wrote: “We are no longer together, but I’ll always support James and wish him the best with his sobriety and healing.” She also clarified that she “never desired criminal charges” and was “not physically hurt” during the argument outside his home.

But she’s been more candid in the months since. In an April 2025 People interview, she recalled the night things fell apart: “It just kind of spiraled. The tension was high. … He was still gaslighting me. He’s like, ‘I’m not drunk, you’re drunk.’ … We were just fighting outside.” She described spending the relationship “walking on eggshells” and constantly monitoring his moods to avoid “blowups.”

On Friday’s podcast, Lewber thanked host Scheana Shay for being part of the support system that pushed her to finally break the cycle — crediting Shay, her mom, and her wider circle for helping her get out.

“People are always like you’re so strong for getting out,” she said. “But I really needed you and my mom and my support group. … It’s so tricky.”

Earlier this year, on her own Starstuck podcast, she put it plainly: “I recognize now that that was a toxic relationship and I’m grateful for being on the other side of it.”

Moving Forward — On Camera and Off

Lewber is channeling her next chapter into Perfect Match Season 4, which dropped on Netflix this week. She connected with Love Is Blind alum Jimmy Presnell and Married at First Sight Australia‘s Dave Hand — though whether she found her match won’t be revealed until the finale.

As for the Coachella video that started it all — footage of Kennedy getting cozy with a young blonde woman before the baby news broke — Lewber said seeing it gave her a moment of “Whoa” before she moved on. Which, honestly, sounds about right.
