Cher Cut Off Son Elijah’s $10K Monthly Support
Elijah Blue Allman claims Cher stopped sending him $10,000 a month in 2021, leaving him nearly broke amid a conservatorship battle and spousal support fight.

- Elijah Blue Allman, 49, claims Cher stopped sending him $10,000 a month back in August 2021
- He’s now asking a court to reduce the $6,500 monthly spousal support he owes estranged wife Marieangela King
- His only income is roughly $6,790 after taxes from late father Gregg Allman’s estate — meaning support payments eat up 96% of it
- The filing comes amid Cher’s ongoing — and so far unsuccessful — effort to place Elijah under a conservatorship
- Elijah is reportedly currently staying at a psychiatric hospital in New Hampshire
Elijah Blue Allman is asking a court to slash his spousal support payments — and he’s pointing directly at his mother Cher as the reason why he can’t afford them anymore.
In court documents filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained by TMZ and the Daily Mail, the 49-year-old musician claims the Grammy-winning icon used to send him $10,000 a month but abruptly stopped doing so in August 2021. Without that income, Elijah says he’s left with just the money from his late father Gregg Allman’s estate — about $10,000 a month before taxes, which comes out to roughly $6,790 after the IRS takes its cut.
The problem? He’s currently court-ordered to pay his estranged wife, Marieangela King, $6,500 a month in spousal support. By his own math, that’s a staggering 96% of his net income — leaving him with next to nothing. His legal team is now asking the court to drop that payment down to $1,651 per month.
Elijah also took issue with how the support order was set up in the first place, claiming he wasn’t properly notified when it was entered. He says King inflated his income in her court filings by listing it at $20,000 a month — a figure that included the monthly gifts from Cher that he says no longer exist. His lawyers argued the court originally calculated his income incorrectly because it factored in that now-defunct support from his mother.
There’s also a logistical wrinkle: Elijah says King served him court documents at Cher’s Malibu mansion — but he says he doesn’t live there. He told the court he was actually staying at an Airbnb in Joshua Tree at the time.
The pair married in 2013 and separated in 2021. King previously filed for divorce, but that case was dismissed. The next hearing in their ongoing matter is scheduled for July 17.
The Conservatorship Fight Behind It All
The spousal support battle is just one layer of a much larger and more painful family saga. At the center of it is Cher’s ongoing legal effort to place her son under a conservatorship — a fight she has so far been losing.
As TMZ first reported, Cher lost her emergency bid to establish a conservatorship over Elijah. Her attorneys painted a deeply troubling picture of his life in their filings, claiming he “has no concept of money, is unable to manage his financial resources and is unable to withstand fraud or undue influence.” They went further, alleging that “Elijah spends any money he gets immediately and almost exclusively on drugs, expensive hotels and limousine transportation.”
The legal push came after Elijah’s two recent arrests and escalating concerns about his mental health and substance use. He is currently reported to be staying at a psychiatric hospital in New Hampshire.
Elijah has been candid about his history with addiction for years. In a 2014 interview with Entertainment Tonight, he opened up about how early it all began. “I started with drugs around the same time that we all did, around 11,” he said. “I mean, it’s just what you did, it’s just what everybody did.” He later revealed that his use escalated to heroin and opiates, and described moments where he genuinely feared for his life. “I did have some close calls and some moments of really feeling at the edge of mortality,” he admitted.
And Then There’s the Secret Granddaughter
As if the conservatorship fight and the spousal support battle weren’t enough, Cher was reportedly blindsided last year by a decade-old family secret: she allegedly has a 15-year-old granddaughter she never knew about.
Former model Kayti Edwards claimed she had a brief relationship with Elijah in 2010 that resulted in the birth of a daughter named Ever. According to reports, Cher first heard about the child years earlier during one of Elijah’s overdose incidents but reportedly dismissed it as “crazy talk” at the time. When she finally confirmed the truth last year, she was reportedly “speechless” — and told family members, “Oh my God, I’m finally a grandma.”
Since then, Cher has reportedly begun building a relationship with the teenager, inviting her to her Malibu home and spending time with her privately.
Cher’s rep did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the latest financial filings.
