Vanessa Trump is facing a serious health battle. The 48-year-old announced Wednesday that she has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer — and has already undergone a procedure as part of her early treatment.

“I want to share a personal health update. I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan. I would like to thank my doctors for performing a procedure earlier this week on me.”

“I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me,” she continued. “Thank you for your kindness and support — it truly means more than I can express. I kindly ask for privacy as I focus on my health and recovery.”

Trump did not disclose the stage of her cancer or further details about her treatment plan.

A Difficult Moment After a Family Milestone

The timing is striking. Just days before her announcement, Vanessa was spotted celebrating a major family milestone — her daughter Kai’s high school graduation. The 19-year-old, whom Vanessa shares with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr., graduated from the Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The family marked the occasion with an intimate dinner at Blackbird restaurant in Naples.

The dinner brought together an unlikely but apparently warm gathering: President Trump’s daughter Tiffany and her husband Michael Boulos attended, as did Donald Jr.’s fiancée, Bettina Anderson. Page Six reported that Bettina, 39, and Vanessa were seen hugging and appeared genuinely friendly with one another.

Vanessa’s boyfriend, Tiger Woods, wasn’t at the dinner — but he did show up to Kai’s graduation ceremony, arriving in his Escalade about 15 minutes late and slipping out roughly 20 minutes before the rest of the guests.

Woods, who confirmed his relationship with Vanessa in March 2025 when he posted photos of the two together, has not publicly commented on her diagnosis.

What the Diagnosis Means

Breast cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death among women in the United States, according to the American Cancer Society — behind only lung cancer. But survival rates have improved significantly in recent decades, thanks to earlier detection and advances in treatment. It’s also among the most common cancers American women face.

Vanessa, a New York City native and former model, was married to Donald Trump Jr. for 12 years before filing for divorce in 2018. The two share five children together, and by all appearances remain on good terms — as that graduation dinner made clear.

For now, she’s asking for space to heal. “I kindly ask for privacy as I focus on my health and recovery” — and given everything she’s already navigating, that feels like the very least she deserves.
