Alex Rodriguez Is Single Again — and Already Working the Room

Alex Rodriguez is newly single — and apparently wasting no time adjusting to it. The former New York Yankees slugger and his famously eventful love life are back in the headlines this week after his girlfriend of three years, fitness instructor Jaclyn Cordeiro, confirmed their split to TMZ — on the very same night a Page Six spy caught him working his charm on a group of three women at Corner Store, a celeb-packed Soho restaurant.

Cordeiro addressed the breakup directly and graciously. “To clarify, Alex and I are currently taking some time apart but there continues to be mutual love, care, and deep respect between us and for our families,” she told TMZ. “We remain supportive of one another, and there is absolutely no animosity, drama, or negative story here.”

She also revealed something heavier behind the scenes. “I’m also navigating a serious health matter involving a family member at this time, so my focus is understandably there,” she said. “Alex and I continue to be very close, and out of respect for everyone involved — especially our daughters and loved ones — I’d kindly ask that any reporting reflects the compassion and privacy this situation deserves.”

A source close to Rodriguez confirmed to TMZ that the two have actually been apart for about two months, though he did like one of Cordeiro’s Instagram posts as recently as May 6, and the pair still follow each other. His last public post featuring her was on Valentine’s Day — which also happens to be her birthday. “My ride or die, thank you for making me smile every day,” he wrote in the caption.

Three Years, Two Daughters Each, One Very Blended Family

Rodriguez and Cordeiro were first spotted together in October 2022, walking hand-in-hand down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. They went Instagram official a few months later and made their public debut as a couple courtside at an NBA game in January 2023. The relationship moved fast — and felt genuinely grounded. Both are fitness-obsessed parents of two daughters each, and they leaned into that shared identity hard.

Cordeiro’s daughters, Bella and Savanah, are from her previous marriage to Laureano Cordeiro. Rodriguez’s daughters, Natasha and Ella, are from his marriage to Cynthia Scurtis, which ended in 2008. The six of them spent time together regularly, functioning as a blended family unit. Cordeiro even joined A-Rod at the New York City premiere of his documentary series Alex vs ARod last year. A source told People early in the relationship that fitness was essentially a dealbreaker for Rodriguez: “He would not date anyone for a few months or longer who was not into daily fitness. It is a major part of his life.”

Cordeiro clearly fit the bill. But three years later, the romance has cooled — at least for now.

Here’s where things get very A-Rod. On the same night the breakup news dropped, Page Six’s spy was inside Corner Store in Soho — a room packed with Hollywood A-listers, star journalists, and political heavyweights — and it was the 14-time All-Star who apparently stole the show.

According to the Page Six source, Rodriguez was overheard chatting up not one woman but a group of three friends, repeatedly asking about their plans for the rest of the night and having them pass their numbers to his assistant. He was there with his nephew and, per his rep, two members of his business team.

“He was really ready to party!” the spy told Page Six, marveling at Rodriguez’s charisma — and audacity.

A rep for Rodriguez pushed back, denying that he asked for anyone’s numbers and framing the evening as a low-key night out with family and colleagues. Make of that what you will.

The detail that makes this even more deliciously complicated? One of Rodriguez’s famous exes was reportedly also at Corner Store that same night. Page Six didn’t name names, but given that his past includes Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, and Madonna, the imagination doesn’t have to work too hard.

A Love Life That’s Never Been Boring

Rodriguez’s romantic history reads like a pop culture highlight reel. He dated J.Lo from 2017 to 2021 — they got engaged in March 2019, postponed their wedding twice during the pandemic, and officially called it quits in April 2022. Before that, there was Cameron Diaz (she reportedly moved to Miami to be closer to him and his daughters), Torrie Wilson, Kate Hudson, Bethenny Frankel, and Madonna, among others. He was married to Cynthia Scurtis from 2002 to 2008, and has since said he could have been a better husband. The two recently reunited to celebrate their youngest daughter’s high school graduation.

Off the field — where Rodriguez spent 22 seasons racking up 696 home runs before his career was derailed by the longest PED suspension in MLB history — he’s built a serious second act as a Fox Sports analyst and co-owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The business is thriving. The love life, as ever, remains a work in progress.

As for Cordeiro, her statement was the classiest thing to come out of any A-Rod breakup in recent memory. Whatever is happening with her family’s health situation, she’s clearly handling it with real dignity — and asking, reasonably, for the same in return.
