Khloé Kardashian has only been to Coachella once — and it’s not a memory she looks back on fondly. The Kardashians star opened up about a frightening experience at the festival on the May 6 episode of her Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, revealing that she was accidentally drugged at a party during what she believes was the 2016 festival.
“I have gone to Coachella. I’ve gone once,” the 41-year-old said. “It was many moons ago. I want to say 2016 or something like that. It wasn’t the best experience. I got drugged without me knowing, but I think everyone knew.”
The way she tells it, she was at a desert party where a mysterious juice was being passed around — and she was apparently the only one who didn’t know what was in it. “I don’t think anyone drugged me,” she clarified. “I just think I was the dumb one and didn’t realize that everyone was on drugs and I remember drinking this drink and just feeling really crazy. No one wants to feel like that and not know why they’re like that.”
What followed was hours of confusion and fear. When the drugs kicked in, Khloé locked herself in a bathroom and refused to come out — not out of stubbornness, but out of sheer panic.
“I just didn’t realize what was happening until after it happened, that I was on drugs and everyone was yelling at me because I wouldn’t get out of the bathroom,” she said. “But I got scared. I was in my head. I was so scared, so my experience was not good.”
A Festival She’s Mostly Skipped — Until This Year Gave Her FOMO
Given that experience, it makes a lot of sense that Khloé has largely stayed away from Coachella in the years since. But this year was different. On a previous episode of the podcast, she admitted to guest Kris Jenner that 2026 was the first time she’d ever felt genuine FOMO about missing it.
“The first weekend was True’s birthday weekend,” she explained, referring to her daughter with Tristan Thompson. “It’s probably the first year ever I’ve had FOMO from Coachella, because I genuinely couldn’t care less. But I’ve never had any Coachella where all [my] sisters are there. I was the only one not there.”
And her sisters were very much there. Kim Kardashian was spotted linking arms with boyfriend Lewis Hamilton at Justin Bieber’s headlining set. Kourtney, 47, hosted her star-studded Camp Poosh party in the desert. Kendall’s 818 tequila brand threw a VIP event. And Kylie, 28, had such a good time she came back for both weekends. Even Kris Jenner, who was out of the country, watched Bieber’s set via livestream — calling it “fantastic” and saying he’s “like part of our family.”
Khloé, meanwhile, was home in Los Angeles, watching it all unfold from afar.
She Also Got Candid About Her 2007 DUI and Jail Time
The Coachella story wasn’t the only personal revelation in the episode. Khloé also revisited her 2007 DUI arrest, which happened when she was 22. She admitted she didn’t initially grasp how serious it was going to get.
“I didn’t know I was going to go to jail because of that, ’cause it was my very first offense,” she said. “Yes, I knew I was in trouble, and I was like, ‘I just can’t have my mom find out.’ But I had no idea that arrest would lead to me going to jail.”
Because her release couldn’t be processed until Monday, she ended up spending the entire weekend locked up. “I was in a holding cell with 23 other women who were all prostitutes, besides me,” she said, adding with a laugh that she was wearing “a very short dress” and “looked questionable.” The following year, she served a few additional hours after violating her probation.
It’s a lot to unpack in one podcast episode — but that kind of unfiltered honesty is exactly what’s made Khloé in Wonder Land worth tuning in for. “I was so scared,” she said of that Coachella night. A decade later, at least she can say it out loud.
