Alex Cooper is going to be a mom. The Call Her Daddy host revealed Sunday morning that she and husband Matt Kaplan are expecting their first child together — and the way she told her fans was pure Alex.

Before dropping the official post, Cooper teased it in an Instagram Story with a message to her loyal audience: “Daddy Gang, there is something I’ve been waiting to share with you.” Then came the photo — Cooper showing off her baby bump alongside Kaplan, simply captioned “Our family.”

In the snaps, Kaplan sits in a chair with his back to the camera while Cooper perches on the arm in flowy white pants and a matching crop top. She rests a hand on her stomach. He places one on her thigh. She’s smiling. It’s sweet, and very them.

The comments section filled quickly with well-wishes from fans and fellow celebrities alike.

From “Mr. Sexy Zoom Man” to Baby on the Way

If you’ve followed Alex’s story, this moment has been a long time coming — and the origin story is genuinely one of the better ones in recent celebrity relationship history. The two were first linked in 2020 after meeting through professional circles, but Cooper kept the whole thing completely under wraps on her podcast, referring to Kaplan only as “Mr. Sexy Zoom Man” for years. It wasn’t until their 2023 engagement that she finally revealed who he actually was.

Kaplan, 42, is a Hollywood producer best known for his work on Before I Fall and the beloved To All the Boys franchise. The pair married in 2024 in an intimate destination wedding weekend in Riviera Maya, Mexico — the kind of celebration that sounds small on paper but, by all accounts, was anything but.

“It was everything we wanted it to be,” Cooper told Vogue after the wedding. “It was emotional, heartfelt, and we tailored it to exactly how we always envisioned it.” She also made a point of addressing the obvious concern about a small guest list: “And I know what you’re thinking: A small intimate wedding sounds like a potential recipe for an extremely awkward dance floor — but that couldn’t have been further from reality. The vibes were immaculate. There were dance-offs, bottles being passed around, crowd surfing…and once again, I’m not a dancer, but there wasn’t a care in the world from anyone that night. Everyone was on cloud nine.”

Big News Amid a Big Week

The pregnancy reveal comes just days after Cooper and Kaplan made a joint appearance at YouTube’s TV Upfront at Lincoln Center in New York City, where Cooper unveiled a slate of new programming for her Unwell Network set to launch in spring 2027 — including the competition series Unwell Games, the two-part miniseries Pot Stirrer, the microdrama Holiday Hard Launch, and the docuseries Before The Steps.

The upbeat week follows a rougher stretch. In April, Bloomberg News published a report about their company Trending — which houses both the Unwell Network and Call Her Daddy — alleging that Kaplan “frequently” yells at staff, citing people familiar with the company’s operations. Neither Cooper nor Kaplan has publicly responded to the claims.

For now, though, the focus is squarely on what’s coming next — and for the Daddy Gang, that’s a very different kind of arrival.
