  • Sonam shared a video montage and heartfelt caption featuring unseen family photos across their decade together.

Eight years of marriage, ten years of love, and Sonam Kapoor is feeling every bit of it. The Bollywood actress marked her wedding anniversary with husband Anand Ahuja on May 8 with one of her most personal social media moments yet — a video montage and a deeply felt caption that traced their entire journey together, from early dating days to building a family across three cities and three homes.

“Eight years married. Three cities. Three homes. Two beautiful boys. Countless dreams built from scratch,” Sonam wrote on Instagram. “So many risks taken, lessons learnt, businesses created, failures survived, victories celebrated and moments where we held each other a little tighter through the uncertainty of it all.”

The video itself covered the full arc of their relationship — stolen moments from their dating years, their lavish 2018 Mumbai wedding (which, for the record, featured Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan dancing at the Sangeet, making it one of Bollywood’s most talked-about celebrations), and the quieter, more intimate chapters that followed.

What made the post land so differently from a typical anniversary tribute was how specific and honest Sonam got. This wasn’t a highlight reel of red carpets and vacations. It was a real accounting of a decade — the risks, the failures, the uncertainty held together. “And somehow, through every version of life we’ve lived together, one thing has only become more certain,” she wrote, “my love, respect and compassion for you have only grown deeper.”

She described Anand as “the calm in my chaos” — the first person she wants to speak to in the morning and the last one beside her at night. “The person who makes me feel safest, strongest and most myself.”

The note closed with something that felt less like a social media caption and more like a private letter made public: “Ten years later, I love you more gently, more intentionally and more completely than I knew was possible when we first began. Thank you for building this life with me. For the laughter, the friendship, the resilience, the family and the kind of love that evolves instead of fades. There’s nobody else I’d rather do this life with. Happy anniversary my love. #everydayphenomenal.”

A Family Moment That Stole the Show

While Sonam’s post was already making rounds, it was a photo shared by her mother-in-law Priya Ahuja that quietly became the most talked-about image of the day. In an unguarded, completely candid shot, Sonam is seen holding her newborn in her arms while Anand lies beside their older son Vayu — both parents doing what new parents do at all hours: trying to get their kids to sleep.

It’s the kind of image no PR team stages. And that’s exactly why it resonated.

Priya Ahuja shared it alongside a warm anniversary message of her own. “Two beautiful souls, one forever kind of love. Still in love, still shining together as it should be!!” she wrote. “You both have turned love into a lifetime promise so gracefully and so beautifully. It fills our hearts with pride and immense happiness to see your beautiful journey of love, laughter and togetherness.”

Sonam and Anand welcomed their first son, Vayu, in 2022. After announcing her second pregnancy in November 2025, Sonam gave birth to their second baby boy in early 2026. The couple has kept both children largely out of the public eye, which makes moments like these — glimpses into the ordinary magic of their family life — feel all the more meaningful to fans who’ve followed their story from the beginning.

On the career front, Sonam was last seen in the 2023 crime thriller Blind, directed by Shome Makhija — a remake of the 2011 Korean film of the same name, in which she played a blind police officer hunting a serial killer. For now, though, it’s the life she’s building off-screen that has everyone’s attention.

“The kind of love that evolves instead of fades.” Ten years in, that’s exactly what it looks like.
