Jason Biggs and Jenny Mollen are going their separate ways. The couple, who have been together for nearly two decades, have officially split, with a representative confirming the news to multiple outlets on Thursday. “They are on great terms and remain focused on raising their two boys,” their publicist said.

The boys in question are sons Sid, 12, and Lazlo, 8 — and by all accounts, keeping things stable for them is the priority. A source close to the couple told People that despite the separation, Biggs and Mollen “are doing great” and even spent his 48th birthday together as a family on May 12. “They are very much connected,” the source said. “I have no doubt that they will remain on excellent terms.”

That kind of warmth tracks with everything the couple has put out publicly over the years. They were mostly private — rarely posting photos of their kids — but when they did share, it felt genuine. Last year, Mollen marked their 17th wedding anniversary with a video of Biggs and their children. And for his 47th birthday, she posted a throwback photo from what she called his “surprise 30th” party, writing: “We were married and yet I still knew practically nothing about you. Like for example, the fact that you hate surprises. Luckily, we made it past that hurdle.” She signed off with: “Happy 47th, I promise I planned nothing.”

How It All Started

Biggs and Mollen’s story began on the set of My Best Friend’s Girl, the 2008 comedy where the two were cast opposite each other. They got engaged in January of that year and, moving fast, eloped just four months later in April. A more formal celebration followed — a small ceremony in Napa, California, with around 40 guests.

Their connection didn’t stop at that film. The two worked together again more recently on the TBS show Dinner and a Movie in 2024, and Biggs made appearances on Mollen’s podcast All the Fails with Jenny Mollen. Professionally and personally, they stayed intertwined.

Their last public appearance as a couple was in November at Italy’s Torino Film Festival, according to E! News.

Biggs, 48, is a New Jersey native best known for the American Pie franchise, though his career spans well beyond that. Mollen, 46, has appeared in Girls, Chicago Fire, Suits, and Crash, among others. She’s also built a following as an author and podcaster.

Just three months ago, Biggs was on The Drew Barrymore Show talking about being one of two dads who signed up to be a class mom for his sons’ school. He and Mollen, he said, were volunteering for as many activities as they could while the boys were still young. “This isn’t going to last,” he said simply. “It’s so fast.”
